my problem is that most old hollywood musicals don't actually have great songs and are very forgettable...even if Doris Day sings them

i LOVED the musical numbers. this entire movie was genuinely so full of whimsy and joy, like it was honestly so unserious most of the time, which is SOOO refreshing! the staging and choreo was beautiful, ray bolger dancing with the photos??? the ENTIRE rock the boat number??? so much fun. doris day is beautiful and so charming and such a wonderful singer and and and…
