I still can't tell if I like this film or not.
The pacing is real weird and I don't ever find myself feeling anything for Layla at any point in time. I get what De Jong is trying to do, but a lot of it just feels so out of place. Layla being both extremely feminist and then being extremely willing to run off with her husband is an interesting duality, but I just don't buy it.
The scenes at the motel are still real good though... I wish this movie was more of that.
