Kamen Rider by way of Sam Raimi's Spiderman, much in the way many superhero movies at the time were being made.
The film is at it's peak when we are seeing the suits, those sexy slick fucking yummy ass suits. And the way they shoot the action in this is SO punchy and kinetic, i fucking love when a Kamen Rider actually uses their bike, preferably a lot and these boys use them A LOT.
Ichigo moves like Batman in this, he his hard and fast, he's stylish and acrobatic and that little move he does where he jump kicks a guy and lands back on his motorcycle was so buttery smooth, he made it look easy, I rewatched that move like 6 times alone.
My biggest gripe with this film is the pacing, although the action is great, there's not enough of it to make the 90 minutes feel as action packed as it could have and lots of time is spent building up characters that end up feeling kind of inconsequential, like their time was spent on the wrong scenes to land any emotional impact.
Overall, very fun Kamen Rider take, more of this carries over to Kamen Rider Amazons than I ever realized, a surprising amount in fact. Gives some interesting connective tissue between these Showa-in-Heisei projects I was pleasantly surprised by.
