there is something weirdly charming about the dialogue. not something i’d usually say, but i think a remake this would have great potential. though that's of course very unlikely. i only learned of this movies existence through my mom, who barely remembered it herself.
given the time it was made, i assume there were limitations in how the queer element could be portrayed. the shy approach it takes towards the touchy subjects ultimately does the story a disservice. i love what it's trying to do, but unfortunately it doesn’t quite stick the landing.
