Young Matt Matthews, an Ozark Mountains moonshiner, hates the father he has never seen, who apparently deserted Matt's mother and left her to die. His obsession contributes to the hatred rampant in the mountains. However, the arrival of a stranger, Daniel Howitt, begins to positively affect the mountain people, who learn to shed their hatred under his gentle influence.

The plot wasn’t bad. And there were some good and effective scenes in this film such as when Mr. Howitt first went in the house and he saw all the things that gave the house memory of his wife. Even though the audience didn’t know her that scene made us feel like we knew her. Maybe I watched this film wrong but it kinda felt all over the place during the film and it wasn’t till like the 5-10 minutes it was all connected. The rest of the film felt disjointed and all over the place.
