forgot to log that i watched this for dramaturgy class. really cool production with great concept, though what else do you expect from the national theatre? i really enjoyed rory kinnear as hamlet, ruth nega as ophelia, and alex lanipekun as laertes, though all performances were stellar. the laertes & ophelia relationship was really well presented and i connected with their bond way more than i ever did when reading it. the happy face stuff was a little corny but in the grand scheme of things the rest of the production overshadows a minor choice like that. it's also so long, but that's obvious bc it's hamlet so i just watched it at 1.25x speed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
