A few funny moments, but it exerts far too much effort on trying to max out the quirky indie film humour and not enough making the main character bearable. I know the point is probably that he's an eccentric prick, but that still means we had to watch an eccentric prick be exactly that for an hour and a half! A few of the jokes (like the monologue one) get old quick, but there are some really funny moments in this. If you'd like the idea of a more absurdist Rushmore (yes I'm once again falling into the trap of comparing every quirky indie film to a Wes Anderson film), then check this out.
