i am not familiar with the actual crime and punishment story. so i can’t judge this on that. but this is kind of just peter lorre doing his thing and it’s great. some of the dialogue and just his little actions were also pretty funny to me (yelling about the cigarette sign. pictures of napoleon and beethoven. smashing hat. more.) the ending wasn’t fantastic but it wasn’t bad enough to really bring it down. none of the other actors really gave anything that interesting. some of the lighting was pretty cool.
tldr: peter lorre is amazing
