Adds depth and insight into a story a lot of us would have learned in school. Does a good job at characterizing Ernest and making the movie about how he overcame and not just about how he struggled. A couple of really well-shot sequences depicting the injustices the kids faced. There was a couple of issues with the pacing and the focus felt a bit scatterbrained at times, but was an overall enjoyable experience.
