Just because something looks ugly doesn't mean that it's morally wrong.
first of all, I wanna say that I am very grateful to find a gay, incestuous film that is directed by a man instead of a woman whose fetish are gay sexual relationships.
aecond, is just how I ADMIRE how this movie portrays
shame vs. desire for intimacy. The desire to be grossly intimate and comfortable with a person you're not
supposed to be with. But you have to. I reflected that loneliness can also result in this type of love, and how lonely you are that you just accept every affection you get just to feel something. i felt really connected with these characters throughout the duration of this work.
third, i love how incest is not treated as purely sexual in here. sometimes, incest can be romantic and intimate. it's not all about inbreeding and birthing babies with physical deformities and defects. it can be disturbing, painful, lovely, peaceful, and even self-destructive. i love the scene where it shows multiple snapshots of the two male characters in the bed, and in every shot they are in a different position. it's so poetic to me. they had intercourse, yes, but that wasn't the focus. it was barely shot. actually, it was
never even shot.
and finally, i fucking love the writer and director of this film for making that ending. so devastating and beautiful at the same time.
i rated this kinda low because the acting was not it and the cinematography feels cliché and bland. the light flashes to switch scenes and the usual shooting angles. so yeah. but still, i love the themes and the plotline this story followed through.
so please don't hate on incestuous cinema for fuck's sake,
unless if it's made purely for fetish. explore different themes in films and shows.
