Bob once make nookie with Buick Skylark.
Fascinating. It's a real movie with a pretty decent cast. It's not the silliest concept for a comedy to come out of the 80s. It's got a pretty steady stream of wisecracks and gags but they're at a low level. It's good because this could be very, very annoying. It ends up just being a weirdly earnest movie with two joke dispenser characters like it's parodying some cave man version of The Miracle Worker I'm unfamiliar with. It's got college comedy stuff but it's way less horny than it could be and amazingly bereft of the out-of-nowhere offensive stuff 80s comedies always seem to land (when Bob says, "Out of the way, fruit!" he is talking to people in fruit costumes). Maybe I just respect the schtick when the writer is willing to put himself in the movie looking like an absolute idiot to deliver it. It feels ahead of its time (i.e. feels like an early 90s family film).
It is criminal how late into the movie Gerrit Graham shows up. We are talking practically the last 10 minutes.
