so absurdly perverted you gotta respect it.I did enjoy my little bride but I didn't like the way it pretended that it's not sleazy. it just masqueraded itself as a romcom with the subject matter, a joke.In pointing out the victimhood of the FMC (her mother did) it actually dismissed it and the mmc's role in it. The film pretended that the mmc's love and desire for her is incidental or pure while she, is only a victim to the circumstances (her age, grandpa). The adults have no backbone or even supportive of the marriage. The only one against it is a "jealous older women," whom at the beginning was shown to be actually protective of the young girls from the clutch of older men (on the field trip) only to descend into this misogynistic absurd caricature of a scorned woman seeking a husband, because of course that's what all women want and would ultimately be happy about right? It's why you should root for the romance here.Another way it diminished her victimhood by pointing it out: the husband inviting her to drink with his friends. He wanted to show a "bossy" husband with an obedient young wife. Only for the film to show how she's actually "the one in charge" and bosses him around instead, lovably of course. What is the film trying to say here? That this situation is somehow balanced? Despite the ages? It does the same thing by showing the male lead's childish side, that matches the 16 year old's!! Wow that totally makes it okay. The film felt like it is advocating for the marriage of young girls; that is especially obvious when paired with the "old maid" character.Anyway, she was honestly allowed to keep cheating on her husband and no one should've said shit about it.
Okay, the parts I liked. The female lead cheating on her husband. When the husband's sleazy desire for her were shown(though the comedic lenses and the ~romantic music~ concealed the sinister side of his desire, which is like, come on, own up to it): the bed scene was cute!
