I love how borderline unwatchable this film is.

they could never make me hate really low budget slashers from the 80s that don’t take themselves seriously. this is such a generic slasher film - a group of people go to the woods and then a maniac kills them off one by one, and somehow I eat it up every time. there’s something so ecstatic about a group of really terribly acted canon fodder travel into some really dodgy woods that has a cannibalistic murderer roaming around, there’s like 6 characters used in separate scenes to just increase the death toll, which I would hate but honestly I really enjoy radioactive blood spilling out people. the music is really jarring, overbearing and definitely of its time, it had really heavy bass and honestly it might be trashy but I definitely have a soft spot for really tense music. everything’s working against this film, absolutely abominable acting, characters having no death, overly gory and unrealistic kills and quite a plain nonsensical plot, but all that add up to a real hidden gem and so bad it’s good kinda slasher, it also has some great one liners and a immaculate atmosphere.

Sound effects and soundtrack were very confusing at times, they were almost sci fi which had me thinking the killer might be an alien or robot 😂 When he was revealed I did like his design and nutcase behaviours

now see this one has been sitting in my watchlist for quite some time now and i just told myself that i should just give in and give it a watch already and that’s exactly what i did since it would be perfect for my underrated slasher findings from the 1980s and after just having finished watching it i’ve got to say that it was a pretty decently made film like it’s obviously not one that i’d call a work of cinema but it also wasn’t one where it was completely terrible but just perfectly fell right in the middle of things like the story wasn’t all that well written and the 4 main characters in this one were some of the most disposable group of people ever in a horror film like they were ones where you didn’t care if they got killed off or lived because each of them didn’t really have anything interesting going for them and then the kills in this one were your standard up and close shots of the victims being killed or your typical offscreen deaths but that wasn’t really what bothered me it was more or so the fact at how extremely goofy each of the deaths were and how the blood in this one was so bad that it just wasn’t even blood just them dumping some red paint onto the actors but we move on to the things i did like about this one and it’s got to be how fast we get into things and get to see a few deaths right at the very start of the film which i love when horror films do instead of having us already be 30 minutes in and no kills have taken place so im glad we were getting kill after kill right off the bat and the another thing i loved was how fucking hard the suspenseful chase music went like it fit the vibe of the scenario that the characters were in so much and also because the beat in it was one that made you wanna shake some ass too but this is pretty much everything i’ve got to say about this and how in my own opinion it was one of those films where it’s so bad that it’s so good so i’ll be giving this one a solid 3 stars.
