Hangman's Curse

i stumbled down a rabbit hole tonight and saw the title of this movie. i knew that i’d seen this movie before but i had no clue why i had such strong indescribable feelings toward it. well now that i’ve rewatched the fucking thing, i remember i was obsessed with the goth kid and this is also where my violent arachnophobia originated.

i stumbled down a rabbit hole tonight and saw the title of this movie. i knew that i’d seen this movie before but i had no clue why i had such strong indescribable feelings toward it. well now that i’ve rewatched the fucking thing, i remember i was obsessed with the goth kid and this is also where my violent arachnophobia originated.

A bait and switch movie that I thought was one thing, but really turned out to be something completely different. With that being said, I actually kind of enjoyed myself while watching. At points the acting was not very good and there was scene where a doctor was suppose to be injecting a person with something. In a bird's eye shot of the same scene, we see that there is a red stain of the liquid from the needle on the sheet. Overall this movie was not the best, but it was silly/absurd enough that I liked it.

Not at all what I had anticipated; this isn't a fun ghost-hunting film. A student committed suicide in the school 20 years ago and now it appears that the goth kids are using his spirit to attack the mean ol' football boys. Hangman's Curse is based on the YA Christian novel of the same name and it shows (the YA more than the Christian). It often felt like Degrassi: Haunted House. The main characters are the twin children of two nomadic FBI(?) agents who solve complex cases around the country. After three football stars go down, they are called in. The dad pretends to be a new janitor, the mom is the councilor, and the kids enroll as students. All of them are terrible actors, both in the film and the actual actors playing the characters; everyone of them is terrible. This is a D+ movie that feels like a special Gossip Girl episode. It's not even a bad movie in a Red Letter Media/The Room way. Just bad.
