been in a little bit of a film watching slump recently because of exams and i decided to treat myself to an early shunji iwai short film who is really proving to be my favorite director.
even though uneventful and somewhat slow and boring, iwai’s obsessively crafted cinematography and asmr-esque sounds, especially of the cucumber, that feels so uniquely iwai, created such a charming story and unexpected ending. and i can’t wait to watch the remake of this with aina the end.
