this movie has that very specific vibe where americans can just go on road trips and have emotional journeys and the logistics of it along with a lot of other things are handwaved (yeah i'm sure you just went to the hospital offscreen like it's no big deal). it's very soap opera, very character-driven. but the things that are meant to be important are also terribly written and/or directed. the movie starts with a very emotional and decent enough scene and then goes into "so bad it's good" territory, sometimes drifting off into boring but not staying there for too long. despite everything, it was still entertaining to make fun of this movie and some of the performances are endearing regardless of how trashy the whole film feels.

Vincent Kartheiser, king of playing greasy, whiny, tragic 00s boys, really brings his lack of charm to this. Inoffensive overall, but this isn’t a story anyone really cares to see. Every character is dull and forgettable. I won’t even remember it in the morning.
