THIS WAS SICK!!
Wet, bulbous, veiny, weirdness. It’s absolutely ridiculous while simultaneously offering some great performances especially by Asuka Kurosawa. The magic really comes from the makeup SFX and prop departments. The design of the sculptures are terrifying but in a goofy way. The comedy in this feels like a nervous laugh when you’re really terrified which is a wild effect for a film to pull off. I mean massive mounds of squelching clay bobbling around like toddlers with protractors as weapons. Come on. What’s not to love?
