HISSS essentially has all the makings of a camp classic ‘thats so bad—it’s good’. Indian bombshell Malika Sherawat in any context immediately camps up a film, especially (and obviously) when she turns into a giant man-eating half woman half snake monster. The climax taking place in a basement that was so underlit dissapoints; especially when the film deploys earnest CGI of the 2010s. What’s also jarring about this film is the constant Pam Anderson reference, the ‘Hindu snakewoman deity but in a burqa’ chase sequence, and the dramatic subplot featuring Irfan and Divya.
STRAY NOTES2nd best transformation scene after a AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON. The HISSS scene being just before she eats the two rapists.
