Jack Antonoff is so fucking amazing at summarising and putting into words what the 18 experience is. particularly because he went through so much at that age, these lyrics of being 18 just spoke to me even though i haven't gone through what he had. lyrics like "So I keep talking about 18, cause I can't let go of the same dream" (Hate That You Know Me) and "I go up to my room and there's girls on the ceiling, cut out their pictures and i chase that feeling of an 18 year old who didn't know what loss was, now i'm a stranger" (I Wanna Get Better) really hit. i particularly love these tracks.
i adore his lyricism and his genius, to put all that experience into words. and allowing every 18 year old to somehow relate. Bleachers, they are the soundtrack to my 18. i feel oddly comforted by their music, it encompasses 18 so well. i'm scared, for the future and for everything. but they're kind of here to say that everyone feels that way sometimes.
other than the 18 experience, Bleachers' music makes me feel things i never thought i'd ever feel. as someone who can't see myself ever getting married, Let's Get Married makes me actually want to get married and have a big wedding just so i can play it at my wedding. it gives me a rush like no other. Don't Take The Money is also another track that makes me feel a crazy type of way. YOU STEAL THE AIR OUT OF MY LUNGS YOU MAKE ME FEEL IT !!!!!! i want to fall in love and feel this rush
my Bleachers albums ranking stands at 1. Gone Now2. Strange Desire 3. Take The Sadness Out Of Saturday Night(HAPPY 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO TTSOOSN amazing album amazing production as always, Chinatown and 91 are my favourite tracks)
