This movie is everything to me and I can’t believe people aren’t talking about it.
It’s a corny fun horror movie but it’s also awesome?? It’s stupid yeah, but a radio station in the desert becoming the centre of an alien invasion and everyone thinks he’s just narrating a story is so fucking cool. The actors actually go so unnecessarily hard for zero reason. The lead character is about to influence the man I am in more ways than I am willing to admit. He opens the movie chained to a wall and forced to listen to polka until someone calls into the station and guesses the password to unlock him, tell me that isn’t so fun. Not to mention BLUE OYSTER CULT did the original score, which is insane.
I never thought I’d be the kind to get really into B-movies like this, I would always admire from a distance, but this was actually so unreal. And exploring the gutters of tubi and prime video will always give me a movie that’s just mine, as of right now, Bad Channels is all mine. Genuinely take this concept and give it to a modern studio with a mid level budget, it would become the sci fi hit of the decade.
