Party Night

The men in this were sooo my type. Like we need a term for this kind of men where they're not like incredibly sexy or hot but they're also not ugly.

Anyways this was a great film that reminded me of Night Screams and Evil Laugh because of its house setting. Its a love letter to 80s slashers and it ACTUALLY feels like an 80s slasher because it is obviously low budget and padded just like those films, and i say that in a complimentary manner. There's some sexuality as expected and all in all i really liked this one. Not a masterpiece but a great popcorn flick.

Oof. General rule of thumb/note for everyone, myself included: if you're setting a movie around high-school aged characters, I understand if you can't actually cast that age because of liability/production issues. But, please, please, don't make this movie's mistake of casting a bunch of actors who look in their late 30s and one who looks 17. Either go full CW and go with the former, or Superbad and just 1-2 years older than their character's age. Like this, is super distracting. Especially when the camera work, the acting, the editing, the dialogue, the effects, are really really awful.

I'm pretty sure I saw a Spaghettio in the blood during the throat slit and shower scenes. And please don't get me started on the decapitation at the end. They couldn't just cut away from the obvious store mannequin being hit in the head? Or at least not linger on it to see the tape that flimsily stuck the head to the torso?

Aaaargh. I could rant about this movie for ages. I guess, watch this movie if you want to do some kind of Rifftrax thing with friends, otherwise, avoid avoid avoid!
