On the outskirts of Birmingham and the margins of society the Billingham family perform extreme rituals and break social taboos as they muddle through a life decided by factors beyond their control. At times shocking and laced with an unsettling humor, three episodes unfold as a powerful evocation of the experience of growing up in a Black Country council flat.

In my last review I said I thought I might’ve been too tired when watching I was 100% right this film is amazing and such a good slow burn that’s not dialogue heavy (hence why it was a hard watch when tired) But yeh really cool I got to see Billingham talk about the film afterwards. He was one of the first photographers I ever studied when I started photography academically so sick and also cool and yeh sick

About to watch this film and if I don’t love it I’ll be so sad Billingham is one of my favourite photographers! I’m not sure how I felt it was very slow and I’m very overtired so wasn’t the right fit defo need to rewatch
