Last night I reconnected with and old friend and we discovered that we both have a fascination with the history of Gravesend, the town in which we grew up. As I did some further reading, it turned out that Gravesend features heavily in the plot of this film and that the film was shot on location there.
I only watched this because of my personal connection to the town. What I wasn’t expecting was a great film, which this film undoubtedly is!
It has all the hallmarks of a classic noir thriller along with some genuinely clever plot points that elevate this film away from other noir stories and some absolutely stunning imagery of a bleak and utterly unrecognisable Kent.
I’m really grateful to my friend for unwittingly recommending this!!
