I'm not gonna talk about the first hour of this movie. It is so mind numbingly boring. Louie just drinks and has nightmares, without the progression that the book does so well. If the ending was done in any other movie, it would be life changing. But it just does not go well with the events of the movie. If Louie was an actual horrible person who needed redemption, it would work. But the movie strips away so much from the book, that I don't really feel bad for Louie, and I even root for him in regards with Cynthia. He was an alcoholic, just a normal alcoholic. You don't need divine intervention to fix that. Besides this issue, this movie is just plain bad. It feels like a feature length Dhar Mann video. The acting is horrible, the pacing is non-existent, the whole movie feels like just one scene. Absolutely nobody asked for this movie. I'm only writing so much just to procrastinate from me writing my English essay, which is on the book. The book that has such a powerful third act, unlike this movie which strips any possible emotion from it.
