This had no right to be as enjoyable as it is. Is it stupid? Yes. Does it look cheap? Yes, most of the time. Is it badly acted? Except for the main character, yes. But is it exploding from the brim with charm, vision, and stupid fun? Yes, it is.

If this came out 30 years ago, this would now be a franchise that would be getting a soft-reboot nowadays. Like I said before, Ben O’Toole is surprisingly good in the lead role, and there were surprisingly effective sequences like the head scene. The effects were good until some pieces at the climax, but that can be ignored for the B-movie fun of it all. If you want to invite some friends over, have a couple beers and laugh, put on this film, you won’t regret it.

Wrong, weirdly enough.
