Hmm crazy. I liked the first Tomie a little less upon the recent watch, and I seem to have liked this better upon this watch. Rating stays the same but liked it better though. Guess with some movies it depends on when you watch them.
This is more of an anthology tv movie adaptation of the manga. With the limited budget they chose to go with more drama heavy horror than the wacky shit seen in Ito’s works. But the stories here are a little more engaging this time around, and of course it’s on the short side at nearly 70 minutes so no lingering shots of practically nothing like the previous movie. And at the very least it ends with something crazy, showing how hard it can be to defeat this particular monster.
So still not the best, but step in the right direction
