Oh this was amazing!!!
The atmosphere was so immersive throughout, especially with the score and the flashbacks to 1692. The supernatural aspects were really well done.
The first few kills were really fun, especially the window kill (I love a good window kill)! The kills for majority of the 2nd act are kinda off screen, but I really didn’t mind.
To be honest, I didn’t find the main family to be interesting, but at least they don’t have a lot of screen time. David is a really competent “final boy” and he’s real cute too so yay!
The poster for this film is probably the best I’ve ever seen and I’m so glad the figure in the poster appeared in the film, even if it was only in the third act.
Speaking of the third act, it goes really balls to the wall with some awesome cinematography and a gnarly kill. The blue lighting that silhouettes the figure when it fully appears for the first time was genuinely mesmerising.
All in all, this is a great supernatural slasher, with a good mystery, atmosphere and competent performances. Very underrated!
