I’ve been an ideal critic for a lot of movies I’ve watched this year. At least finding something redeeming even in the most trash. Giving 4’s to probably honestly 2’s. 3’s to honestly 1’s. I couldn’t do that with this one. It felt like it was trying to be this intellectual satire on LA and LA culture and instead it was just a bad movie with no likable characters. I mean fucking shit even the 13 year old sucked and the conflict was just solved and a bunch of stuff was started and dropped and god I can’t explain how much this annoyed me. Especially because it started promising with some an academic talk, but then I realized it’s the movie equivalent of a well read 13 year old. Just saying a bunch of big words trying to sound smart, and unique and original and creative and is really just a kid saying SAT terms. Also that Dad was supposed to be hot? Got me feeling confident about being the neighborhood dilf if I stay in shape.
