File this under the "prototypical vintage anime I love." Basically a perfect midnight OVA. Kinda feels like Fire Emblem characters were dropped into *Fist of the North Star. The character design and creature designs are stellar. Super barebones plot, but also no superfluous fat. Don't get me wrong, this is absolutely unremarkable. But if you like vintage violent fantasy/dystopian anime, this checks essentially every box.

As some reviews point out, there are several scenes of gratuitous sexual violence, so ymmv with that. It's not excusable, but relative to this common blemish of the time, seems on par. For example, I wouldn't say this is worse than anything showing up in more popular anime like Crying Freeman or Wicked City*.
