watched this for an MUN thing, was unsurprisingly the only one who paid attention the whole way through
not quite as dull and lifeless as i expected it to be, although i definitely wouldn’t want to watch it again. i hate to dunk on sitting-and-talking movies just because they’re only ever sitting-and-talking, but this one had a LOT of sitting-and talking. at least there was some interesting shot composition in the first half. oh and what was up with the overwhelmingly green/yellow wash over the ENTIRE film? taking a page out of twilight’s book, my god
apparently this was originally a play before getting a film adaptation, which explains andrew scott’s appearance in this a bit more (he was a gem as always, what else can you expect). i can definitely see this being way more impactful on the stage, where you can feel the palpable “realness” of the negotiations going on. whereas on screen, it’s pretty much… sitting-and-talking
also that when one guy was introduced i just assumed he was keanu reeves in the matrix. you’ll know who i’m talking about if you ever decide to watch this
