“you have always feared banality. that’s the reason you became so severe.”
a surface level synopsis of this film would say it tries to humanize Hitler and his twisted entourage, but i found it to be the complete antithesis of humanization, if anything this movie serves as a disturbing depiction of just how deranged and senseless he was, even when around close confidants while simultaneously those people who undeniably could recognize his insanity continued to deify and validate every aspect of his existence. its absurdity, its blindness, its fear, its disgusting, its evil, but sometimes, evil can have a human face with human qualities, even if its the most despicable and deplorable evil there is.
