Review for HBO show Barry
Honestly one of the best shows I have ever seen. I knew almost nothing about the show going in and I can’t even begin to describe the emotional whiplash that I felt throughout every episode. The show meticulously blends comedy, drama, and action into 30 minute chunks of perfect television. So much happens in each episode that it’d be a disservice for me to try and explain further what you’re getting yourself into with Barry. If you’re into shows like Breaking Bad, Fargo, or Ozark, I’m sure you’d like Barry too.
Bill Hader does a brilliant job in the lead role and an even better job as director of multiple episodes. Stephen Root, Henry Winkler, and Sarah Goldberg round out the main cast and deliver equally stellar performances. The show is just so well-written and well-shot beginning to end.
I’m excited for season 4 and if you haven’t watched the first 3 seasons, go do that.
