Within the first 15 minutes, I felt disconnected to POST MORTEM. I found the film’s pacing, dull lead character and greytoned cinematography to be primary contributing factors. While I appreciate Larrain’s continued commitment in tackling the everyday complexities behind Pinochet’s 17 year iron rule, the story just did not invigorate. The ending of stacking furniture as a metaphor to ‘suppression’ just feels hackneyed.

Confusing, weird and depressing - Chile in 1970s was vile, there’s so many macabre scenes in this film. The cinematography wasn’t very interesting to me, it’s fine, the performances are mostly good, the setting is pretty interesting but the pacing is just unbelievable slow, I think I’d appreciate it more if it didn’t waste so much time. 

Overall,
I think this film has a lot more to say than just fascism = bad (we should all know that by now) a very hard film to watch at times and I might’ve missed something sub-textually, the pacing is terrible though.

hmm didn't rly impact me as much as i would've like BUT the colour scheme was cool and grey and there were some rly gripping and emotional points
