How I lovee coming of age movies written by women.
Hana’s character stucked with me. Oh I knoww her character is personal to Yoon Ga Eun. You don’t write a character like this without having lived it yourself or deeply absorbed someone else’s story. And her brother, accurate eldest son character. Acting like he doesn’t give a fuck, but deep down he does, and when he finally broke down, we can see how painfully real it is. Unfortunately I related to parts of this movie a little bit too much. God bless every lonely daughter out there who had to grow up too fast, overly independent, mature beyond her years, and just craves for a loving home.
While Yoon Ga Eun reminded me of Kim Bora, her movie feels more uplifting.. more hopeful, while still completely capable of breaking your heart. I do prefer Kim Bora’s style, but I need to watch Yoon Ga Eun’s other works first before deciding for sure.
