I have to write a review of this film for my hip hop and social justice class. I loved the nuanced conversations between the students that were filmed, however, I feel like I don’t know enough about the social, political, and economic situation in Morocco to properly place these ideas into context. I think the film would’ve hit harder if it had taken the time to situate its viewers in this situation, as well as in the neighborhood the center was in, Sidi Moumen. Though maybe the film was intended for a Moroccan audience and that’s why these details were left out.
