it had a cool concept but was way too slow and predictable. the scares fell flat, and the story dragged, making it more boring than terrifying. solid idea, weak execution

super dissapointing for a horror out of korea. wayy too long for something as unimaginative as this, and they left the haunted village too soon. the entire hour chunk of city shit was god awful and i wish i just skipped it. the cgi was comedically bad but then randomly pretty solid? you gotta choose one or the other there if you want everything to work. practical effects were also pretty decent throughout and there was a FEW actually unsettling scenes in this, so it definitely doesn’t work as a funny shitty movie.
got a bit confused what tf was going on but part of that was definitely because of my lack of interest in anyone in this, or anything happening here. had a weird rapey scene for no reason..
acting was too over the top, even for a korean project who usually get some leeway from me in that department.
there was this one part in this where the ghost would try to convince people to commit suicide by guilt tripping them while morphing into someone from their past.. i dug that but it wasn't the focus of this and it was barely featured. it was such a cool way to let us learn more about characters without forcing abnormal shitty expository dialogue between people before shit hits the fan, which is what usually happens. another movie could and should yoink & twist that whole concept into something great !!! (in the off chance it hasnt already been done 😭)

the spooky hair ghost is definitely NOT gonna stick around in my memories for long but when i eventually look back at this i will remember it and laugh to myself so this still beats out the conjuring in my october watchathon

Korea’s attempt at turning The Ring into a college ghost hunting romp. Probably the worst color grading and CGI I’ve ever seen in my life (actually that’s not true because Koji Shiraishi’s Occult exists) but just like Occult, it’s still pretty damn fun.
