Wowwww such a haunting bleak script, this play truly showcases Sam Shepherds amazing talent as a writer and storyteller. What made Paris, Texas so heartbreaking is what makes this play utterly horrifying and truly upsetting. Shepherd loves to uncover the past in bits and pieces leaving the audience to puzzle in the rest, like a little secret. But for the pieces to be laid Shepherd masterfully writes characters and settings that allow the story and message be crystal clear. Filled with nuance Shepherd truly is the king of show don’t tell on script writing. As for this specific performance, very clear motives and characterization, though watching the recording rather than seeing live does make the performances seem a little too big, I am sure live on stage was truly electric to watch.

pretty entertaining. had no idea what the ending meant tho. It was on some Ari Aster ahh type of timing.

watched this for directing. i thought the world was established very well and the hearth being the living room was fitting — but it just seemed to go on forever, and i didn’t really buy that they all came from the same world.
