the part where the woman describes her belief system changing when she thinks about her dog passing away really hit me hard. i don't know what happens to us when we die, and i tend to lean towards the answer of "nothing", but god i hope i see my dog ruby again one day.

Taking care of a senior dog can be so heartbreaking and saying goodbye can be even more heartbreaking. Hearing the firsthand accounts from the owners of these elderly dogs and what they meant to them in their lives is hard to sit through for me, but I’m glad I did, especially as I wasn’t able to be there for the final days of the family dachshund.
