2020 Chattanooga Film Festival
Should've known better but I love Idle Hands and The Unborn, plus I wanted to watch another CFF flick that wasn't super visual or subtitled (ok, I wanted a background noise flick).
It feels super dated and like a lesser Zombieland clone. There are some fun ideas, but the humor and performances did not work for me. The music is awful. Punches above its weight with protracted debates about the ethics of cannibalism, weak school shooting and sex offender shit, and some pretty decent gore that just doesn't fit the comedy. Plus, there are zombies and a shadowy organization of telepaths hunting them but this isn't post-apocalypse.
I think if you love zom-coms, you'll maybe find something to enjoy. I did not.
