Baffling movie. First 20 minutes or so is real animals being whimsical an having adventures, must of been a nightmare to film. Then you have little Elizabeth Taylor and her relationship with the dog. Then they send the dog to war for some reason 😭. Then boom Elizabeth Taylor is back, but this time she has to advocate for the dog because the dog is being tried in court. I repeat, the dog is being tried in court. Now if you don’t want to be spoiled for The Courage of Lassie (1946), stop reading now. The result of this is that the dog is cleared of all wrongdoing because the court finds out the dog was a soldier, and it’s insinuated that the dog probably has ptsd so we should give him a break.
