Picked the most interesting thing I could find on a flight to Japan. Turns out this was actually really impressive! I really appreciated the commentary on the neglect of certain missing persons, especially when regarded as runaways or sex workers. It was also interesting to see the difference between the portrayal of American police/detectives and the Japanese police force. It’s pretty clear that this drew inspiration from Fincher stuff, however this mostly influenced the cinematography. While some aspects of it were a little dramatic, it worked well as a crime thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The twists were extremely effective. I now realize I’m like the second person to ever review this on here but if you can find it go check it out if crime movies are your thing.
Also someone tell my why my dad watched Gemini Man and the live action Aladdin when they had Parasite....
