The heist comedy was funny and good but alot of the actual monster scenes fell short. The one squid scene was super cool though.

This one genuinely has a cool looking and interesting monster. The effects for Dogora are pretty amazing for the time, and he’s one of the only classic Kaiju I’ve seen that’s actually convincing. Too bad he’s barely in an otherwise terrible movie. 

This thing is 95% bumbling diamond thieves, despite the giant alien squid destroying the planet. I can only assume they blew the film’s entire budget on that one great shot of Dogora, and had to make the most economical movie possible to support it. 

Oh yeah, Dogora is in an episode of the Godzilla Island show. Totally worth my time.

The good: As DIY Dogora is, I think it works. The effects, lighting, and minimalism give it a Cthulhu-type dread.

The bad: "Is she alive?" "Yea, and she's pretty too!"

The random: This might have the funniest wtf death I've seen so far in these kaiju films.
