What a great slice of life this film is. It is the sum of all its charming parts. It flows and ebbs so effortlessly that I almost feel like I have known these characters all my life.
I found parts of myself in Crispin, that 'trying to be effortless' act when you're just scared to take those big leaps and maybe trying to downplay how much you want to take them. It struck a chord with me.
Crispin and Sierra are a refreshing take on the whole 'will they or will they not' gist. We are also doomed when we are afraid to take intimate leaps too. Mattan was also super interesting, wished we explored him a little bit more. The pizza place was totally the main character.
Music choices were solid, the cinematography was nice and the script was very charming and naturally funny. I really enjoyed the film. Lastly, I was starving for pizza the entire runtime so I recommend watching it with a couple of slices.
Huge shoutout to the director himself, Jay Salahi! He shared the film with me on Twitter a while ago. He called it a 'coming-of-age stoner rom-com in a pizza place', a description that did not slip my mind (I do apologize it took me this long Jay).
I will be on the lookout for your future projects! If you're looking for something to watch this summer, I think this a must-watch for us coming-of-age lovers.
