Szulkin achieved a lot with no dialogue in this. I admittedly don’t know the words sung in the music, nor do I know the original story this is based on. But from what I could tell, the film seems to depict an immoral young woman who engages in multiple sexual acts with the men in the village around her. We see her killing three of her children and later a fourth. What I believe happens next is the young woman is confronted by the devil who shows her the multitude of horrific torture methods that will be used on her if she does not stop her wicked actions. He then leaves her back at the village she is from. She avoids temptation for only a moment before giving in to her previous lifestyle. It is once she makes this decision that she is snatched up once again and begins to endure the torture she was promised.
