Once again we focus on Nami Matsushima. This time she has a sister who goes missing and after getting too caught up in doing something about it, our innocent heroine is given a fifteen year sentence for a murder she didn't commit. She's sent to an all women prison where she's not exactly welcome. Her fellow inmates torture, humiliate and try to kill her; but the Scorpion prevails long enough to get some justice.

New female scorpion is the reboot of the series made famous by meiko kaji. The reboot is not as good as the original movies but still brings everything I liked about the original series. Yumi takigawa takes over the role as Nami and she plays the role well. I like that most of the female prisoner work together (or supposedly). The supporting cast do a good job. They are slightly unmemomrable but I still liked their roles. The villians are fine. They are despicable and as still bastards but don't really stand out from the original. The style could have been done more like the original. This one has stylistic moments but looks fairly well but normally shot most of the time. In the end I liked this movie and still had a good time with it. I did miss meiko kaji though.
