Probably my favorite stand-up show/special of all time!!!
I absolutely love Xander De Rycke He's definitely my favorite comedian ever. I’d always say I’m a much bigger fan of Houdt Het Voor Bekeken, because I love movies, and those specials are basically two-hour comedy shows about Vlaamse film and media. But this is the special of his that I rewatch the most, and it’s my favorite by far. I love this show from start to finish.
I don’t really know how to “review” a comedy special, but I love that the whole show is based on and structured around those self-help tips.
Also, let me brag for a second: I met him… AT MY FUCKING SCHOOL!!! He was there with this charity group, I think, and they were giving out fruit. He was standing behind one of the booths. I was so excited to meet him. He was wearing a Linkin Park hat (great music, by the way), and I was full-on fanboying, telling him how much I loved his work and all that. He noticed my shirt and even said, “Geweldige film.” I was wearing a Scott Pilgrim shirt. My favorite movie of all time. I almost melted. A few hours later I got curious and looked up his favorite movies, and one of them is Scott Pilgrim. TWINS!
But seriously. An amazing show, fantastic bits, and just a great time all around.
