For a documentary that's only 45 minutes long, it's incredibly repetitive and boring. The whole thing is split into several parts, each time showing the title/intro sequence again and rehashing the content from 5 minutes ago. I don't know if that's because it was edited for TV with commercial breaks in mind or not, but whatever the reason, it's really irritating.
The dramatic narration and music makes it seem like they're about to discover some never before seen evidence just to find out nothing but their respective ages, possible illnesses or injuries and maybe something indicating their social status. They keep questioning why these people stayed behind as if it's so hard to imagine why people die during natural disasters.
