After our lead wakes up from the coma, we find out that her doctor is named Dr. Phil Laccio and the nurse is named Connie Lingus. This bit actually worked on me??? It’s so random and dumb that it cracked me up.
This entire film is full of dumb stuff like that which sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. I genuinely think they wanted to make a fun revenge thriller about trans women taking back their power but maybe the recipe needed to be perfected a little bit. Let it sit in the oven for a little longer to really cook.
There was one scene though where I must give them praise. The one take sequence of mother krystal (bubbles) walking around the house (and then the tea making scene) was so suspenseful. Every time she turned a corner, I thought someone was going to pop out lol. They did well there.
