Director- Raj B Shetty. The story is the same old typical gangster vs police with the same rehashed themes about friendship and betrayal, but the way Raj B Shetty writes the screenplay is what separates it from the rest. The film is shot well in parts, but overall it looks very much like a work from an amateur. There are instances where the shot choices make no sense, such as why the mother decides to check in the well. There are no indications of there being a cause. The action in the first half of the film is shot quite well. Especially the one where he does a Tiger Dance. The way the characters are set up in the first half is done quite well. That scene is the highlight of the film for me.Every time I saw the character of Raj B Shetty angrily fighting on the screen. I always thought of Snickers as he looks hangry. Rishab Shetty, on the other hand, looks like he has been eating up Raj's food too, which makes his anger make more sense.Sadly, the second half squanders it all. The way it is structured is too disjointed and haphazard, which makes it appear that Raj didn't know how to finish the film. The way their double agent snitches on them makes little sense. How he planted a mic amongst them and eavesdropped on them the whole time makes little sense except for plot contrivance as well. The editing is choppy and doesn't allow the emotional scenes to resonate with the audience. The way each death scene is structured appears to be exploitative emotionally after a point. At the end of it all, the entire debacle turns into petty, meaningless fights whose only goal is to boost the fragile male ego of the two lead characters, being exploited by the policeman. After a point, it starts to get boring. The ending of the film leaves a lot to be desired, as we never got an out-and-out action ending one might expect from such a film. The way both of them meet their end is disappointing. The family of the police officer took a back seat in too big of a degree after he got transferred to Mangaladevi. It would have been interesting to see how they cope with his absence and the obsessiveness with two gangsters.Overall, this is well-made in parts, but overall, it is not a good watch. I had much higher expectations from it.
