Lonely experiences really do make for quite beautiful works of art. Manila here is so lush and alive.
I get this film badly. Big fan of how grounded in lived experiences this was, and how it showed me a side of Manila I haven’t (and don’t want tbh…) lived. It was also enlightening as well, with how male sex workers were humanized here.
The film’s abstract approach after the bus ride was striking tbh… and that oner? I can just imagine the stress filming it must have brought.
Similar to 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten, it was a profound, enriching experience to me.
